Eastern Emergency Relief Network Inc (EERN) is made up of a number of member welfare providing agencies (approximately 140). These members are the active arm which bring their clients in need to the warehouse for assistance.
The core objective of EERN is to make available furniture and other household goods and (non perishable) food parcels as emergency aid to those in need.
At any given time, it needs good quality second-hand furniture and other household essentials, non perishable food, financial assistance, and of course, volunteers.
It is operated by a Management Committee made up of representatives from member agencies, the community at large, and service clubs such as Lions and Rotary. It is run entirely by volunteers. There are no paid workers.
There is neither State nor Federal Government funding currently available to EERN. Its financial viability is dependent upon donations, grants from philanthropic and charitable Trusts, and fundraising. As a registered charity, all donations to EERN ($2.00 and above) are tax deductible.
