Over the past few days, the Federal and State Governments have announced measures to restrict many activities and to close non-essential entities in order to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The Eastern Emergency Relief Network (EERN) Committee advises that from the close of business at 1:00pm on Friday 27 March 2020, EERN will close until further notice.

However, in recognition of the current economic and social environment, we know there potentially is an ongoing need for our services to meet an urgent requirement recognised by an Agency Member.

This means we will continue to offer limited services but by Agency appointment only.

To arrange an appointment, the Agency Member should send an email to: providing the Agency name with a contact name and phone number.

Someone from EERN will check messages every day and ring the Agency contact person back to schedule an appointment as required.

We will not be picking up donated items from residences. Donated items MUST not be left at the front of the warehouse as there will be no volunteers to move them indoors and they will become weather damaged and useless.

Please note that the arrangements above are subject to change if there is further tightening of the restrictions by the Federal and State Governments.

Please note that members of the general public cannot access the warehouse directly and will need to contact an Agency Member for support.

The contact details of 5 main agencies who may be able to provide assistance are detailed below:

Anglicare Victoria – Knox Family Services 9721 3688
Uniting (Vic & Tas) – Harrison Community Services 9051 3000
Migrant Information Centre – Eastern Melbourne
(Existing migrant & refugee clients only)
9285 4888
Eastern Domestic Violence Outreach Service (EDVOS) 9259 4200
Uniting (Vic & Tas) – Wesley Homelessness & Support 8870 4000

We thank you for your understanding in this challenging and ever-changing environment.
